Coming soon! The Bailiff's Wife, published by Cuidono Press, will be on bookshelves in late October.

Based on actual events described in a 17th century broadsheet, this novel tells the story of a determined widow in search of justice for her husband, and the village that fights her every step of the way.

I am a writer living in the rural Northwest, on a beautiful river with my husband and dog. My interest in history is lifelong: I earned a Ph.D. in medieval and early modern European history at the University of Washington and have spent many years sharing my love of this subject with students. I have found that history and storytelling aren't that different. While researching for my dissertation on Quakerism, I came across a 17th century broadsheet about a murder in an English village. This became the inspiration for my first novel The Bailiff's Wife. I am currently working on a novel about Margaret of Anjou, Queen of England during the 15th century Wars of the Roses. Both novels center around women who won't give up, who fight against the greatest odds, and who deeply care for their families.
